R&D Engineer (Speech Synthesis/Speech Recognition/Algorithm)

Job Description

  1. Semantic and Speech AI Embedded Systems (AI on OS)
    • Develop lightweight natural language and speech algorithms for edge devices, enabling quick natural language voice interaction responses at the edge.
    • Experience in developing AI natural language and speech voice interaction applications on various operating systems (Linux/Windows/Mac/Android/iOS/ROS, etc.) for devices like PCs, laptops, smartphones, tablets, smart speakers, digital signage, kiosks, robots, or Raspberry Pi/Arduino, along with integration with third-party software and hardware systems
  2. Semantic and Speech AI Embedded Firmware (AI on Chip)
    • Implement semantic and speech algorithms as firmware using Tiny ML on edge MCUs/ICs for on-chip AI inference.
    • Expertise in developing AI voice and semantic algorithm firmware for voice control chips/FPGA/Arduino/Raspberry Pi or other boards used in wearables/hearables, smart vehicles, consumer electronics, toys, etc., and integrating them with peripheral components.
  3. Semantic and Speech AIoT Smart Internet of Things
    • Set up CPU & GPU Docker/VMs in public or private clouds to create cloud intelligence with deep learning training and inference capabilities. Establish an AIoT architecture between the cloud and the edge to collect data from client or edge AI inference responses for retraining in the cloud. Deploy optimized new models back to the edge/client for AI updates.

Job Requirements

Relevant Experience:

  1. Experience in developing AI Bots/Agents such as Web/Line/App Bots, including customer service chatbots for websites or applications (Web/App Chatbot) and instant messaging IM customer service chatbots (Line/WhatsApp/FB/WeChat ChatBot).
  2. Experience in designing and integrating human-machine interfaces on edge devices like Kiosks, Digital Signage Bots, and Smart Speakers with AIoT.
  3. Experience in developing and designing Metaverse Avatar (Virtual Bot) virtual robots.
  4. Experience in developing, designing, and integrating Voice Bots for telephone voice applications.
  5. Experience in developing process and script modules for human-computer interaction across various industries/scenarios.

Other Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency in designing and applying semantic/speech algorithms. Ideally, candidates have studied machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) courses during their university or graduate studies and have published papers or intellectual property related to artificial intelligence, data science, or data mining during their master’s or doctoral stages or in corporate laboratories.
  2. Familiarity with using cloud AI tools such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
  3. Knowledge of Linux Ubuntu or other Linux-like operating systems.
  4. Experience in visualizing semantic and speech data is a plus.
